Paula + Rob | Clovis, California | Intimate Backyard Wedding
Paula and Rob,
Gosh I have so many thoughts about this simple and sweet romantic wedding that I shot in the height of Covid.
I first met Paula and Rob before Covid even began. It seems weird to even say that. We booked their wedding in 2019 and met in the very beginning of 2020 for their engagement session. I loved them from the very beginning. You could just tell they’re an absolute match for each other, quiet but they bring out the giggles out of each other and make each other smile. They had plans for a big wedding with all their friends and family. But shortly after we shot their engagement photos everything in the world changed and we weren’t really sure if they would have a wedding or what it would look like.
They opted for an intimate backyard wedding with only their family and best friends. This was one of my favorite Covid adaptions I’ve seen in the last 2 years. One things Paula said to me that I loved so much was that instead of stresses about her guests and if they were having a good time she was just embracing the family time and having the best time relaxing and being in the moment with her closest people that were there and I think that’s truly what matters most.
Rob’s parents sadly weren’t able to attend along with some other family members due to travel restrictions which was definitely hard for everyone. They brought out a camera for zoom during their ceremony and carried around a laptop during the reception toasts and dancing. It was was a first for weddings but I loved the way they adapted to the times and found a way to make the most of their wedding.
