Melissa + Ben | Fall Chapel Wedding

Ben + Melissa

A few months ago I decided to do an engagement session giveaway, Melissa and Ben won the giveaway and ended up deciding to book me for their wedding! We met at Kentucky Native Cafe for their Engagement Session and had the best time walking around the greenhouse, taking photos and bonding over ministry.

Their wedding was held at Duncan Memorial Chapel, a beautiful chapel built by a husband in memory of his wife after her passing. The detailing in the venue was the perfect touch to their wedding. On Melissa and Ben’s first date Melissa mentioned her love for butterflies and that she had found a butterfly that she wanted to have framed. Ben funny enough had studied entomology and knew how to do it, they planned a future date to frame a butterfly as a gift to Melissa’s mom. Ben hilariously stated, “ I never knew my bug knowledge/collection would score me points with a girl.” So they planned their future date and apparently it worked for Ben!

When it came down to her bridesmaids gifts, it was Ben’s idea hand make each of them a pinned butterfly, and so she gave each one of them beautiful frame symbolic of their first date. Melissa’s grandmother even surprised her by putting a little butterfly in her bouquet. I loved seeing such a beautiful little symbol of their relationship in the details of their wedding day.

After the ceremony we all made a quick to Starbucks before the rest of their wedding festivities.
